Announcement on the arrangement regarding Election/Endorsement Arrangement for TC Chair, WG5 Chair, WG8 Chair and STG (CERP) Chair and Co-chair during 28th GHWP Annual Meeting in Malaysia

This serves as an announcement on the arrangement regarding election/endorsement of TC Chair, WG5 Chair, WG8 Chair, STG (CERP) Chair and STG (CERP) Co-chair, during the 28th GHWP Annual Meeting in Malaysia. The general principles of GHWP are applied, which encourage more member countries/regions to take up office bearers or positions in GHWP:

1. WG8 Chair, STG (CERP) Chair & Co-chair 

• As the current WG8 Chair, STG (CERP) Chair & Co-chair are under acting arrangement, we shall open the WG8 Chair, STG (CERP) Chair & Co-chair position for any nomination, and for election/endorsement at the coming annual meeting. 
• If there is more than one nominated candidate for any of the position mentioned, an election will be taken place for the position concerned on 12th Dec 2024 (Day 4) at the GHWP Main Meeting.
• The existing Acting WG Chairs and Acting Co-Chair of the WGs concerned are eligible and welcome to be nominated for the election.

2. TC Chair and WG5 Chair

• Our current WG5 Chair is also serving as Acting TC Chair, where the endorsement of TC Chair will be endorsed at the coming annual meeting. 
• After discussion with Acting TC Chair, we shall open the WG5 Chair position for any nomination, and for election/endorsement at the coming annual meeting.
• If there is more than one nominated candidate for the position, an election will be taken place for the position concerned on 12th Dec 2024 (Day 4) at the GHWP Main Meeting.
• In case there is no nominated candidate, TC Chair will continue to serve also as the WG5 Chair until the end of this term.

Please note that the nominations for election of the positions of WG5 Chair, WG8 Chair, STG (CERP) Chair & Co-chair starts on 19th Nov 2024 with the deadline of nominations on 4th Dec 2024. Attached please find the Nomination Forms. Detail requirements on nomination were listed under “Instructions of Submission and Remarks” of the corresponding nomination forms.

Here are highlights of the requirements:

Regarding Nominees

1. A nominee of WG Chair or Co-chair must be a member of GHWP, and from one of the GHWP member countries/regions.

Regarding Supporters

1. Only GHWP primary representatives can be the supporters.
2. Each supporter can support ONLY ONE nominee for each of the position.
3. Supporter from the same member country/region of the nominee is NOT accepted.
4. A minimum of TWO primary representatives of other GHWP member countries/regions (i.e. two supporters) were required for each of the nomination of GHWPTC Working Groups Chairs & Co-Chairs.
