New Logo of GHWP
Global Harmonization Working Party (GHWP) is changing its name to Global Harmonization Working Party (GHWP) with a brand-new logo, to better reflect the vision and representation of the Working Party with members from Asia, Africa, Middle East and South America, working towards the harmonization of medical device regulations.

GHWP was established in 1996 as a non-profit organization, with experts from the medical device regulatory authorities and the industry. GHWP is currently having members from 31 countries/regions, with goals to study and recommend ways to harmonize medical device regulations, and to work in coordination with WHO, IMDRF, APEC and other related international organizations on establishing harmonized requirements, procedures and standards.

With more than 20 years of development, GHWP is moving forward to extend our efforts in medical device regulatory harmonization from the original focus in Asia into a global prospective. The new name, Global Harmonization Working Party, signifies our vision on global collaborations in medical devices regulation convergence through opening up membership to medical device regulatory authorities and industries worldwide. By keeping “Harmonization Working Party” as part of the name, the Working Party expresses our continuity of work and commitment on the convergence of medical device regulations.

“The new logo of GHWP in the shape of English letter “G” stands for “Global”, while the fingerprint feature indicates our goals on promoting digital and personalized healthcare with medical technology advancement,” said Mr. Ali M. AL-DALAAN, Chair of GHWP. “The gradual colour transformation of the logo reflects harmony, with blue colour symbolizing deep scientific base and green colour for patients’ health and safety.”

By transforming into GHWP, the Working Party will continue our efforts in harmonizing regulatory requirements of medical device in our members to support the advancement of medical technology innovations, betterment of market access of medical device and upholding of medical device safety and efficacy.
